Texas State Optical (Line Optical)

Dr. Velasco obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences from the University of Houston. He then achieved his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
During his time at the College of Optometry, he received recognition with several Letters of Excellence in the Family Practice and Contact Lens Clinics. Dr. Velasco was also a founding member of the Myopia Management Summer Immersion internship program, igniting his passion for managing children with myopia using specialty contact lenses and eye drops. This experience motivated him to establish and lead the Contact Lens Club, further cultivating his enthusiasm for specialty contact lenses.
Throughout his doctoral studies, Dr. Velasco gained extensive experience through training at various practices, including Bellaire Family Eye Care, UH Eye Center at the Heights, Vision One Eyecare, and Clear Lake Eye Center.
Having grown up in Conroe, Dr. Velasco is eager to come back to serve the community that played a vital role in shaping who he is today.
