Dr. Stephanie L. Wolman, FCOVD is a developmental optometrist specializing in pediatric eye care and vision therapy. She provides comprehensive eye examinations for all ages including infants and preschoolers. Vision therapy is provided for patients with learning related vision problems and visual perception problems; strabismus and amblyopia; eyestrain and headaches related to reading and computer use. Rehabilitation is provided for vision disorders resulting from traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and developmental delays. Dr. Wolman also provides complete eye care and vision therapy for those with autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Awareness and early intervention of inefficient visual and perceptual skills are important to the educational and social development of children. Scientific research has shown that vision problems can be recognized in early childhood. Related signs and symptoms often go undetected in typical vision screenings. If left untreated, children may fail to develop the skills necessary for learning.

- Vision Therapy for All Ages
Vision therapy is an individualized, supervised, treatment program designed to correct visual-motor and/or perceptual-cognitive deficiencies. Vision therapy sessions include procedures designed to enhance the brain's ability to control: eye alignment, eye teaming, eye focusing abilities, eye movements, and/or visual processing. Additionally, balance, coordination, and fine motor skills are enhanced.

Convergence Insufficiency (near vision disorder),

Dr. Wolman graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 1998. She completed her residency in pediatrics/vision therapy at the Southern California College of Optometry in 1999. She is an associate member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Wolman has been in practice in Westchester County for over 10 years.
